NPFL reconsiders Abia Warriors’ use of Umuahia Stadium

The Nigeria Premier Football League has given Abia Warriors a provisional approval to return to their home ground after a suspension due to the poor playing turf, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The league body on Tuesday announced the temporary lift of the ban on the Umuahia Township Stadium due to “recent improvements on the condition of the playing turf.”

In a letter to Abia Warriors, the Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi stated that the provisional clearance which last till the end of season will be subject to periodic review.

The club was further urged to take the directive of putting the stadium in good shape before the start of next season as it will serve as of the criteria to be allowed to participate in the league.

Warriors played their home games at The Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

They make a return with a home game against league leaders Lobi Stars.
