Victor Osimhen is currently in high demand but the Super Eagles star has refused to address his future as his sole focus remains on a top campaign finish with Galatasaray whom he joined on loan in the summer after a fallout with Napoli, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has now sounded out a rallying call to the club’s board, pushing the narratives of the need for a lethal and proven striker if the club aims to achieve anything worthwhile next season.
“We need Osimhen, we need experience, we need someone who knows how to score. We need someone who can come and show these young stars of Man United how to do it. If I’m Man United, I’m making it happen”, Ferdinand said during his Rio Presents Podcast.
“I want someone who knows their way around a football pitch at the elite level and knows how to score at the elite level consistently—Osimhen has done that. I want him here and now,” he added.
The ex-Man United captain said: “Yes, Osimhen hasn’t played in the Premier League, but I don’t care. I think he scores wherever he goes.”
Osimhen has led the line for the Lions since the injury to Mauro Icardi, he currently has 28 goals, and 5 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions, the most of any player in the team as they chase the Super Lig title.
