Zesco United coach Zlatko Krmpotic has admitted the long-haul flights will be the biggest challenge for him as he prepares his team for the two legs of the 2017 Caf Confederation Cup.
The Zambian club take on Enugu Rangers on Sunday away in Nigeria in a Confederation Cup pre-group stage, first leg match at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Zesco will then head back home on Tuesday, on a gruelling scheduled flight back home via Addis Ababa, for the final leg game at home to be played on April 15 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
“We are playing two games in seven days, but will have very little time to train,” Krmpotic said.
“We come back home on Wednesday and we will have only two days to prepare the team for the return leg.
“The travelling is a challenge for these games because the African continent is very big.”
Zesco landed in Nigeria on Thursday just 48 hours before the match and had a light training session after a brief rest.
Meanwhile, Zesco are hoping for a second successive group stage appearance following their landmark qualification to the semifinals of the 2016 Caf Champions League to become the first Zambian side to do so.
