Former African Footballer of the Year, Emmanuel Amuneke has broken his silence on his contract termination with his former club Zanaco FC of Zambia Nigeriasoccernet.com reveals
He said he was happy with his experience in Zambia following his departure from Zanaco FC on Monday.
The Zambian club terminated the contracts of Amuneke as its consultant along that of his Nigerian assistant Emeka Amadi as well as the Head coach, Kelvin Kaindu and appointed Wilson Nyirenda, as the Interim coach of Zanaco till the end of the season.
The club board has been on a massive cost cutting exercise which has seen them fail to strengthen the squad with just one player coming in since the arrival of Amuneke and players’ salaries cut without prior notice.
Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered that the action of the management of the club may have affected the morale of the squad and coupled with suspension of key players a Zanaco slipped down the table and struggled to compete in the league.
“Every journey eventually comes to an end but I’m happy with the experience in Zanaco FC,” he said.
