“You will get more playing time”- Sam Sodje woos his Super Eagles Colleagues Aribo, Dennis to consider Brentford

Brentford hero Sam Sodje has explained why two Super Eagles stars Joe Aribo and Emmanuel Dennis should choose a move to the Bees over their other Premier League suitors.

Aribo and Dennis are two of the hottest Nigerian players linked with summer moves after a brilliant individual season, with the two players directly participating in 35 goals (19 goals, 16 assists) combined.

The versatile midfielder has one year left on his contract and is not interested in extending his stay at Rangers, while Watford are expected to cash in on one of their most saleable assets following their demotion to the Championship.

Aribo has been linked with possible moves to Brentford, Aston Villa, Southampton and Crystal Palace, while Dennis has been offered to mid-table Premier League clubs including Brentford and Crystal Palace.

On why they choose Brentford over their other Premier League suitors, Sodje said “It’s easy. What people don’t know is that Brentford is in London and once you’re playing for a London team you always get reviews and the most important thing Brentford is a family club.

“The fans are incredible. If you are signing for Brentford, you know you are signing for a very good club, it would suit them.

“Let’s forget about everything else, they will get games, that’s the other important thing.

“It’s about going to somewhere that you will play games. Emmanuel has played in the Premier League before so he should be fine.

“Aribo coming in he has to go to a football club that he has to get games. If they can come to Brentford, it’s a great signing for Brentford and for them.”

The retired Nigeria international expects Aribo and Dennis to fit into the playing style of manager Thomas Frank if the Bees firm up their interest in the Super Eagles players and a move to the Brentford Community Stadium materializes.

Sodje continued :”Brentford don’t deal with big stars. Christian Eriksen is the biggest star that they have so they play as a team. The players that go to Brentford will know that they have to work hard.

“Next season will be tough but they will strengthen the squad and get the results early. The second season is always tough for any club that goes up.”

Aribo and Dennis have been named in the final Nigeria squad ahead of their upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with Sierra Leone and São Tomé and Príncipe.
