Wolves Out Of Relegation After 3-1 Victory

Warri Wolves came from behind to beat Akwa United 3-1 in a  rescheduled league match on Sunday.The visitors drew the first blood in the 34th minute with a brilliant finish from Ubong Friday.
The lead lasted only ten minutes as Wolves equalized on the 44th minute off the boots of Sikiru Alimi who converted a penalty kick awarded to the hosts after King Osanga was felled in the Akwa United goal area.

The home team went on to add two more goals in the second half of the game. King Osanga put Warri Wolves ahead when he scored in the 60th minute while Kelvin Itoya completed the hosts’ victory run through the third goal he scored in the 68th minute of the match.


With their victory Warri Wolves have garnered 34 points from 27 games and climbed up to 14th position on the NPFL table.


The lift for Warri Wolves’ meant 3SC dropped from the 15th position it occupied last night (after Saturday’s games) to 16th position.
