Willian Says Antonio Conte's Half-Time Team Talk Was Crucial to Chelsea Beating Hull

“?Chelsea playmaker Willian has revealed an excellent motivational talk from manager Antonio Conte inspired the Blues to victory over Hull City. 

Willian and Diego Costa scored second-half strikes to lift Chelsea to a much-needed three points at the KCOM Stadium, ending a run of three league games without a win that included demoralising defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal. 

Following the game, Willian revealed some specific instructions from Conte during the half-time interval was key to breaking down the Hull resistance and clinching an immensely satisfying three points.

“We did a good job,”? he said, via the Daily Star. “In the first half we played well but didn’t score a goal. 

“In the second half we were more concentrated on our final pass and we scored two goals, so congratulations to everyone and now we must keep going.

“At half-time the manager told us to continue to press high up the pitch and we did it well.

“We have to stay positive. The season has only just started and there are so many games left to play. Now we have to continue in the same way in our games to come.”?

Conte said after the game that the victory – and a clean sheet – was a massive boost in confidence for the club and his players.

“This week we’ve worked a lot, we must find the right way to be more compact.

“A clean sheet is important for the confidence. We are working very hard and we must continue in this way.

“Chelsea is a great team and I try to choose the best team because I want to win, the club and fans want to win. We have different options, that’s normal. Together we win, together we lose.”?
