Reigning Federation Cup winners, Bayelsa United have said they will not return the Aiteo Cup trophy they won last year because the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are yet to settle them with the 25 Million Naira prize money for winning the cup competition.
“We won’t return the cup until they pay us the prize money,” a club official told InsideGlassHouse
Bayelsa United pipped Nasarawa United on penalties to win the Federation Cup last year.
It would be recalled that Kano Pillars also complained for several years that they were not paid the prize money for the cup competition organised by the NFF. The competition sponsor, Aiteo Group of Company had stated that they don’t owe NFF the sponsorship funds.
