Watford have turned down a bid of £38m for striker Odion Ighalo from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.
Owner of Watford, Giampaolo Pozzo have already rejected a bid of around £30m for Ighalo’s strike partner Troy Deeney and want to keep the duo together next season to help push them to their aim of securing European football next season.
Free spending Shanghai SIPG broke their transfer record when they signed Brazilian forward Hulk for £46m but according to the online version of the Guardian, Watford are adamant that Ighalo won’t be sold despite the mammoth offer.
This is the second straight summer that the Nigerian has been a subject of a bid from China as the forward who scored 17 goals in all competition last season turned down a big money move to Hebei China Fortune just over a year ago.
