Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will today target a semifinal spot when they take on one of their Group A opponent Togo in the second game of the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU B) U17, Nigeriasoccernet can report.
The five-time World champions had in the tournament opener on Saturday beat hosts, Ghana 4-2 and a draw against Togo will be enough for the Nduka Ugbade tutored team to progress to the semi-finals.
A win for the Eaglets today will cement their place on top of Group A.
Meanwhile, host Ghana will have to wait till Friday to know their fate when they take on this evening’s Golden Eaglets opponent, Togo.
The Black Starlet lost 4-2 to Nigeria in the tournament opener and will now hope Nigeria beat Togo today a result which will only require them to beat Togo by any margin on Friday if they are to continue in the tournament.
