Portugal star and new Bayern Munich mega-signing Renato Sanches’ controversial age dispute may have finally been put to bed, after a 2010 video emerged of a 13-year-old Sanches giving his first interview as a Benfica player.

The 18-year-old starlet is in line to start for Portugal in the Euro 2016 final, having helped his side beat Wales 2-0 in the semi-final on Wednesday night. 

Either tournament-hosts France or World Champions Germany await Renato Sanches and company this Sunday as Portugal aim to win the first major tournament in their history.

“?The news that Sanches’ age dispute has finally come to an end will be a boost to the Portuguese camp as they prepare for Sunday’s final.

The exciting youngster was filmed in 2010 as a 13-year old having just signed for Benfica. The video shows Sanches stuttering his words in typical teenage fashion, it certainly doesn’t look like a 19-year-old, which is what retired French footballer Guy Roux alleged in the past few weeks.

It is expected that the Portugal international will “?sue Roux in what has been a deeply personal and hurtful attack on the young star.

Sanches was a long-standing transfer target for Premier League giants Manchester United, with the Red Devils pursuing the teenager for seven months before Bayern Munich romped in with a £28m transfer to bring the starlet to Bavaria.
