Nigeria’s Victor Boniface has expressed delight over his scoring form in the UEFA Europa League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Boniface scored for Royal Union Saint-Gilloise against Bayern Leverkusen on Thursday night to take his tally in the competition to six.
His 51st minute goal from a pass he received on the left flank which he comfortably curled at the right hand corner of the net opened the score before Leverkusen equalled score.
The striker who joined RUSG this season said he is proud to be the top scorer in the competition after he was overcome injury in his career.
“I am really happy, I feel proud because I have been through a lot during my time in Norway, got injured missed a lot of games, but coming back here and performing to the highest level, playing good, I feel really proud of myself.”
He desire is for him and his team to “stay compact next and focus on Thursday night” for the return leg at home.
