Ahmed Musa has expressed confidence that his club Leicester City can “play very well” on Wednesday night when they face Spanish side Sevilla in the knockout stage of the Uefa Champions League.

The English champions cruised through their group stage to set up a mouthwatering clash with the Spanish outfit who are highly-regarded in Europe, but the 24-year-old attacking winger thinks they can do well on the back of their pre-game plan despite enduring a stuttering season in the Premier League.

He also holds the view that the Champions League remains “very important” to the Foxes and wants the team to stay focused ahead of their game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

“We are going there to do our best. I think with the confidence we have with the boys at training ground, we are going to go there and play very well. If we can win there, I think the confidence will be back.

“It is a very good experience. It is one of the tournaments people want to play in. For the group, we are happy to be in next round. We are working very hard to try to go there and win.

“We have to focus on the Champions League because we know that is very important for the team,” Musa told Leicester City’s official website this week.

The Nigerian has made four appearances in the Uefa Champions League and is yet to score in the competition compared to the Premier League in which he has featured 18 times, 11 as substitutes, scoring just twice.
