U23 AFCON Qualifier: Dream Team drawn bye, to Tanzania/South-Sudan next round

Following the draws conducted for the qualifiers of the 2023 U23 African Cup of Nation by the African Football governing body CAF, the U23 team of Nigeria will not partake in the first qualifying series, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Nigeria’s Dream Team was among the teams drawn bye in the first round alongside Ivory Coast, Ghana, Egypt, Algeria, Senegal, Mali, Gabon and Cameroon were drawn bye during the draws conducted on Thursday afternoon at the CAF headquarters in Cairo Egypt.

According to the draw, the 1996 Olympics gold medalists will have to wait for the winner between Tanzania and South Sudan in the second round.

The first leg of the second round has been fixed for October 21st – 23rd and the second for 28th – 30th, 2022.
