“?Turkish Süper Lig side Besiktas have confirmed their interest in Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, according to a report in the “?Daily Cannon.

The Colombian international, who is expected to feature for his nation at the forthcoming Copa America, is reportedly unhappy at the North London club, having been restricted in first team action following the Gunners’ purchase of goalkeeper Petr Cech last summer.

The 27-year-old only featured 12 times in all competitions for the club this season, including four appearances in the league when Cech was injured, and is expected to move on in the coming weeks, having become disillusioned.

The goalkeeper, who kept two clean sheets from his four league appearances, can consider himself unfortunate to find himself challenging for the number one spot with Premier League legend Pet Cech, and could even find himself vying for a place on the substitute’s bench with Polish keepr Wojciech Szczesny next season should a permanent move to Roma fail to come to fruition.

Now Besiktas’ sporting director, Gokhan Keskin, has confirmed the Turkish club’s intention to sign Ospina, telling Turkish radio station, Radyospor, that they are trying to get Ospina.

“Nothing has been agreed on yet but we are targeting Ospina.”?

Manager Arsene Wenger is said to be willing to sanction the sale and is expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, having failed to sustain a Premier League title charge last season.
