Real Madrid is set to announce the contract extension of Karim Benzema, with the new deal set to expire in the summer of 2023, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 33-year-old has been in command of the team’s attacking line since Cristiano Ronaldo departed the club.
Karim Benzema will be Real Madrid’s vice-captain this upcoming season but could be wearing the armband more often than not given that Marcelo is not expected to play many games during the campaign.
The former Olympique Lyonnais player returned to the French national team and featured in the Euro 2020, he made 4 appearances and scored 4 goals.
Benzema’s leadership and his presence on the pitch will be a major factor for Real Madrid this upcoming season.
