“?Tottenham Hotspur are “?reportedly the latest team to join the race for Celtic forward, Moussa Dembele, who is rumoured to be valued at around £30m by the Glaswegian club, according to a report in “?Calciomercato.

The Frenchman has hit the ground running in Scotland and has already grabbed 19 goals as well as five assists in all competitions for the Hoops so far, leading to interest from the likes of Liverpool and West Ham.

The striker only joined Celtic in the summer from Fulham, who must regret allowing the Frenchman to leave for free after his contract ran out. The Cottagers, in fact, only received £500k in compensation for the forward who looks likely to fetch a fee in the region of £20m-£30m.

Dembele was actually close to joining Spurs before ending up at Celtic but the proposed £6m deal fell through when Fulham insisted that he remained with them on-loan until the season was over.

Both clubs must regret failing to strike a deal back in 2016 for the Frenchman, who recently levelled for his side in the Old Firm derby recently with this powerful strike…

Top of the league by 19 points, and with a game in hand over Rangers, manager Brendan Rodgers could probably afford to let the striker go and still claim his first Scottish Premiership title as Celtic look to make this their 48th – still six behind Rangers, who have 54 titles to their name.

West Ham recently had a £20m bid for the forward rejected, suggesting that they will not entertain any offers below their valuation of the player, meaning that Spurs will have to significantly increase the offer of £6m that came close to securing his services last year.

Third in the league, Spurs look to be on course to mount their second consecutive title challenge and sent a message to the rest of the league by beating leaders Chelsea 2-0 last time out.

Without a Premier League title to their name, Mauricio Pochettino might be tempted to cough up the funds to add a second Moussa Dembele to the squad as the second half of the season gets underway.
