Despite Lobi Stars’ difficult season, head coach Tony Bulus remains optimistic about the team’s chances of avoiding relegation, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.
The Makurdi-based club suffered a 2-0 defeat to Abia Warriors on matchday 31 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), deepening their survival concerns.
However, Bulus, who was recently appointed as head coach, insists that his team is still in the fight.
“We are giving our best in every game, and you can see that the boys are not playing badly,” he stated.
Dismissing the notion that relegation is inevitable, he added:
“You may think we are destined for relegation, but that’s just an opinion. We believe survival is possible because nothing is impossible.”
Despite his optimism, Lobi Stars remain at the bottom of the NPFL table, with time running out to secure their top-flight status. The team will need a strong response in their remaining fixtures to avoid dropping to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
