Tolu Akorede scores on KRC Genk debut

Tolu Akorede began his KRC Genk sojourn on Sunday with a goal in their hard-fought 3-2 win over Gent, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The Nigerian striker who has been with Valmiera FC in Latvia since 2019 joined KRC Genk this January as a replacement for fellow countryman, Paul Onuachu who moved to Southampton.

Started the game from the bench, Tolu Akorede scored Genk’s 3rd of the encounter to open a 3-1 lead for them before a late goal of from the host gave the fans a tensed end to the fixture.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian, Yira Sor was on target for KRC Genk on Sunday.

Sor gave KRC Genk the lead for the first time in the encounter in the 67th minutes.

A great game it was for the Nigerians whose focus will now be on Genk’s next game against Royal Antwerp
