“?Manchester United full-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah is said to be rewarded for his break through season with a new four-year deal.
The 18-year-old made his debut in February 2016 after coming on as a sub for Marcus Rojo in a 3-2 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford. He then went on to impress further as he made eight Premier League appearances last season under Louis van Gaal.
The full-back also went on to play key games in the build up to United’s FA Cup success, including the quarter-final replay win at Upton Park and the semi-final victory over Everton at Wembley.
After seeing his teammates Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson signing new deals with the club on Monday it is reported by “?Goal that the Dutch Under-19 international wants to follow suit.
The deals concerning Rashford and Borthwick-Jackson ties them down until 2020 and it is thought that United are keen to do the same with Fosu-Mensah.
A potential deal could see the 18-year-old earn £20,000 per week if the players agents at Stellar Group and Manchester United agree to terms, this will be slightly less then the deal Rashford signed on Monday. Like both deals done beforehand, Fosu-Mensah’s offer will also include a one-year option.
Rashford, 18, has booked his place in the England squad to France for Euro 2016 and spoke to “?Manchester United’s Official Website about his delight at signing a new deal at Old Trafford.
“I am delighted to have signed a new contract. I have always been a Manchester United fan, so to be playing in the first team really is a dream come true. I am grateful for having the chance to prove myself. To be able to play football at the biggest club in the world means everything to me and my family.”
The youngster was also given his debut under Louis van Gaal and went on to score five Premier League goals in 11 appearances, including becoming the youngest scorer in the Manchester Derby when he netted the winner at the Etihad back in March.
