Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has confirmed that he will be leaving his coaching role at the London club, after reaching an impasse with manager Arsene Wenger.

The two Frenchmen failed to come to an agreement, with Wenger asking the former forward to choose between his Sky Sports punditry and the coaching position.

Henry opted to remain with Sky Sports, offering an explanation via Twitter where he appears to blame the boss, despite having made the decision to leave himself.

I would like to thank Andries Jonker for offering me the chance to coach the U18’s @arsenal, which I was honoured to accept. However …/ctd

/ctd… I respect Arsène Wenger’s decision and I want to wish their manager Kwame Ampadu, the boys and …/ctd

/ctd… everyone at the club all the best for the forthcoming season.

Gunners fans certainly aren’t happy about it, and have made their feelings on the matter known.

Can’t help but admire Henry for snidely pinning the blame on someone else for something that’s very clearly his fault. Have to respect it.

Very poor tweets from Henry, should’ve explained why he’s chosen to earn 4m at Sky instead of taking full time job at Arsenal’s academy.
