Super Falcons Gaffer reveals his plans for Nigeria in the 2023 World Cup

Head Coach of the Nigeria Women’s National Team, Randy Waldrum has revealed his target for the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the upcoming World Cup in 2023.

The American gaffer says his target is to lead the team to the knock out phases of the FIFA World Cup in 2023.

Nigeria are one of the few countries who have been part of every edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup since it kicked off in 1991, however Africa’s most successful women’s national team side have never made it past the Quater-finals in any edition.

The African giants haven’t been at their best lately, failing to defend their African title in Morocco and followed by defeats to Morocco, Zambia, United States (twice) and now Japan.

Despite recent result Waldrum maintains that his objective is to guide the team beyond the Group phase of the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

“As far as the World Cup, our expectations are to make it out of our group and make a deep run in the World Cup.”

“We feel like we have the talent to do that, and right now, we just need time to gather with the team and to prepare properly,” He said just before his side took on Japan at the Noevir Stadium this morning in Kobe where they lost 2-0 to the Nadeshiko Japan.
