Super Falcons ease past Algeria with Ajibade’s brace

The Super Falcons of Nigeria secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Algeria’s Green Ladies in a friendly match held at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade stole the show, scoring both goals for the nine-time African champions. Ajibade opened the scoring with a sublime finish in the 24th minute, followed by a second goal in first-half stoppage time.

The 24-year-old forward has now tallied six goals in 20 appearances for Nigeria.

Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities in the second half, Justine Madugu’s side failed to add to their lead.

The two teams will face off again in a second friendly match scheduled for next Tuesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
