Super Eagles Head Coach Sunday Oliseh has denied reports that he is tactically trying to weed out ‘senior’ players in the national team in order to have a firmer grip of the team.

The coach has stressed that he indeed has a very good relationship with all the senior players in the team.

Oliseh, however, added a caveat that players are all treated as equals and there are no special treatments for anybody in his team.

“My rapport with the senior players has been good,” he told Brilafm . “What we’ve had is that we’ve been very clear; we are treating everybody equally, that is how I work. I don’t believe in giving priority to particular players over others, and it has been going on very well, team spirit is very high.

“I just came back from the Belgium tour which was a huge success for us as regards how we want to play. For the home Eagles also, the spirit is very high. So it is very good.”

Debates among football fans suggest that the senior players in the Super Eagles felt spited by the manner in which Ahmed Musa was named captain over a handful of others he met in the national team.
