Record Sport revealed in December that Celtic had sent scouts to keep tabs on Eupen’s clash away to Anderlecht in December.

The striker says the Scottish Champions are in discussions with his club about sealing a deal for his services.

He said: ” Celtic are interested in me and they have tabled an official bid for me.

“There are discussions between the clubs and my agent.

Onyekuru says Leicester’s recent capture of Wilfred Ndidi is motivation for him to seal a move to Premier League one day.

He added: “I believe I have the level to one day play in the Champions League .“I look at what happened to Wilfred Ndidi. We come from the same region in Nigeria and meet up regularly.“His transfer to Leicester is an example for me. The Premier League is my dream league, although I would rather go to Arsenal.”
