Shortlist Announced: Ogunbote battles Illechukwu for NPFL Coach of the Month Award

Enugu Rangers head coach, Fidelis Illechukwu is again nominated for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Coach of the Month award for April, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The current gong holder for the the month of March will contended with other three distinguished managers in the league.

Gbenga Ogunbote of Shooting Stars, Mohammed Majin of Niger Tornadoes, and Stanley Eguma of Rivers United are the other quality nominees.

Ilechukwu orchestrated a triumphant month for Rangers, securing three wins in five matches, accompanied by an impressive tally of 10 goals. His strategic prowess kept the Flying Antelopes soaring at the helm of the NPFL table.

Meanwhile, seasoned tactician Ogunbote spearheaded Shooting Stars’ campaign for a coveted continental position. Under his guidance, the Oluyole Warriors clinched four victories out of five matches, showcasing their mettle on the field.

Eguma’s Rivers United continued their relentless pursuit of continental glory, notching three wins in four games under his astute leadership, solidifying their status as contenders.

Majin’s masterful guidance steered Niger Tornadoes clear of relegation waters, with an admirable three wins in six games, showcasing his transformative impact.

The ultimate recipient of this esteemed award will be determined by a distinguished panel of Nigerian football experts, with the winner set to be unveiled on Friday, May 10, 2024.
