Super Eagles defender, Benjamin Taminu has called out South African defender, Aubrey Modiba for his malicious tackle on him in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Taminu who played as a right back for Nigeria had a boot to his check from the Bafana Bafana left back while trying to stop the Nigerian from getting past him.
Modiba for the rough tackle got booked (yellow card) but Taminu ensured the last of it has not been seen as he called out his opponent, labeling his play ‘Shaolin soccer.’

While Hugo Broos’ side will be happy with the 1-1 draw away from home, Nigeria who now seat fifth on the Group C table will need more pain endurance on Monday when they face Benin Republic away in Côte d’Ivoire.
