According to Il Messaggero, newly promoted Salernitana is facing a possible exclusion from next year’s Serie A if current owner Claudio Lotito doesn’t sell the team by tomorrow. Lotito owns Lazio and Salernitana, and Serie A regulations prevent any ownership group from owning majority shares in more than a team.
Lotito bought Salernitana in 2011. After being promoted to Serie A for the first time in 22 years, Salernitana now needs a new owner to make sure the dream of playing once again in Italian Top League doesn’t turn into a nightmare.
