According to reports gathered by Nigeriasoccernet.com, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike will swear in the Chairman of Rivers United, Barrister Chris Green as State Commissioner today.
The report has made available by BSN Sports states that the governor Nyesom Wike had forwarded the names of Hon Boma Iyaye, Chris Green , Surveyor Burabi Donald to the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening.
They appeared before the State House of Assembly with 35 photocopies of the credentials to the clerk of the house Stanford Oba
The Rivers State FA Chairman, chairman of Rivers United and special adviser on Real Madrid Academy to governor Nyesome Wike may add another feather to his cap as Commissioner of sports in Rivers State after surviving a tedious screening on Friday.
Under Green as the Club Chairman, Rivers United emerged the 2022/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions with three matches to bear.
Speaking with the news outlet, Green confirmed that he with other nominees will be swear in today. He however did not confirm to our correspodent whether he will be the State next Commissioner for Sports.
“Yes, the governor, will on Saturday swear in my humble self and others as Commissioners but I can not assure you on which portfolio. I can only confirm my portfolio on Saturday.”
