Nigeria Professional Football League champions Rivers United have started preparations for the preliminary rounds of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.
The ‘Pride of Rivers’ won the Nigerian topflight football league for the first time in their history this season garnering 77 points in 38 games.
The team alongside their technical crew were hosted by the State Governor Nyesom Wike last week and were well rewarded for the efforts.
They resumed training on Monday evening ahead of the AITEO Cup and the Champions League which Kickoff in less than two months.
Participating teams in the CAF inter-club competitions are expected to submit the name of their players on or before the 15th of August 2022.
