Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has been named the Young Player of the Season by Scottish champions Rangers.

This outgoing season has been a breakthrough one for Bassey, 22, who could play at left back or in central defence.

The Ex Leicester city defender  has made 27 league appearances for Rangers this season, which was a remarkable jump from his eight games in his debut season in Scotland.

Bassey moved to Scotland in the 2020/2021 season as a free agent from Premier League club Leicester City, where he featured for the U23s.

Last month, he made his long-awaited international debut for the Super Eagles against Ghana in Kumasi.
