Plateau United Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu says he feels no extra pressure facing the 4 time CAF Champions League winners, Esperance Sportive de Tunis, ahead of the CAF Champions League playoff first leg encounter.
Plateau United will host the North Africans on Sunday 9 October, at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Speaking ahead of the game Ilechukwu stated his side respects Esperance for what they have achieved on the Continent, but they aren’t afraid of them.
“We know it is going to be a tough game coming up against an experienced side with so many records in the CAF Champions League but we are very optimistic of our chances given the efforts we have put in to prepare the team,” Ilechukwu said.
The Peace Boys edged out ASO Mandji of Gabon 3-2 on aggregate in the first round of qualifiers.
Winner of the second round over two legs will qualify for the money-spinning group stage of the competition.
