Plateau United commensurate with coach over deceased wife

Plateau United technical crew and supporters club has paid a condolence visit to the family of Coach Ismaila Mabo over the demise of his beloved wife, Hajiya Lami, whose sad event occured on Tuesday 18th October, 2022, after a brief illness.

Technical Adviser of the team, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu who lead other Coaches and some supporters of the team to the condolence visit described the sudden death of Hajiya Lami as a great loss not only to her immediate family, but to the entire football fraternity not only in Plateau State, but Nigeria at large.

He commended Coach Mabo for his fatherly advice to the team stressing that as former Super Falcons Coach, he has left worthy lasting legacies in the coaching profession in Nigeria which he and others are emulating.

On Plateau United controversial ouster from the CAF Champions League by Esperance in Tunisia last Saturday, Coach Ilechukwu said the team has moved on and is working hard to ensure it overcome Al-Akhder of Libya in next month CAF Confederations cup play-offs to qualify for the group stage of the competition.

“You are not only a father to us, but a big role model as far as the Coaching profession in Nigeria is concerned. I really appreciate your support to me as a coach and our team. Do not relent in offering your advice to other young coming coaches,” Ilechukwu submitted.

While praying God for the repose of her soul, Coach Ilechukwu urged Coach Mabo and the entire family to accept her death as an act of God who giveth and taketh at the time he deems fit.

Chairman, Supporters Club of Plateau United, Umar Shehu while commiserating with Coach Mabo over the demise of his wife, prayed God to grand her soul eternal rest.

Shehu thanked Coach Mabo for his fatherly advise and support to the team which has positive impact on the fortunes of the club and urged him to sustain the spirit.

Responding on behalf of the family, Coach Mabo who was elated with the condolence visit, commended Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu for a job well done in changing the fortunes of Plateau United within the last one year.

“As a trained Coach you must be a psychologist. You need to study your opponents and read his mind, so that you understand the direction of his team. Coach Mabo said.

The late Hajiya Lami Mabo passed away after a brief illness and her remains has since been committed to mother earth Wednesday, 19th October , 2022 in Jos.
