Austin Oladapo has got a new coach at DR Congo’s TP Mazembe after the club re-appointed Pamphile Mihayo Kazembe (46) as new head coach following the sacking of Franck Dumas on Saturday.
TP Mazembe were the team tipped to qualify ahead of Ugandan side, Vipers SC after they got a morale boosting goalless draw in Kampala but they were unable to make home advantage count in Lubumbashi after they got another goalless draw in front of their fans. The Congolese eventually lost 4-2 on penalties to Vipers who got their historic first CAF Champions’ League group stage berth.
The Congolese sacked head coach Franck Dumas (54) with immediate effect after failing to qualify them to the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the second time in a row.
While the club also sacked every member of the football management committee immediately with the exception of the secretary who remains in office after they failed to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Mihayo, the new coach takes over the Ravens for a third stint having been in charge previously April 2017 to March 2020 and also from January 2021 to July 2021.
Oladapo who joined the club from Enyimba FC has only played a competitive game for T P Mazembe since his move last month.
