
Premier League club Wikki Tourists has fired 10 players ahead of the upcoming season.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday, the Bauchi team retained 21 players and signed 18 new ones.
Spokesman for the side Bala Kurba said the club decided to retain the services of Falconets coach Bala Nikyu as their manager while Bwasit Mangut would continue as his assistant.
Kurba said, “Some of the new players are Ishaq Giwa, Mustapha Abdullahi, Nafiu Kabuga, Bala Zakka, Rabiu Musa and Ibrahim Pius, who moved from Gombe United and Katsina United respectively. The first four players joined from Kano Pillars.”
He said Wikki signed Bature Yaro form Nasarawa United, Chinedu Iroko from Heartland, Ezekiel Thompson from Warri Wolves and Sadiq Abubakar from Golden Sports Academy of Jos.
Kurba, who is also Vice-Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Bauchi Chapter, said the club had paid the players their signing-on fees, and have started receiving their November salaries.
He expressed confidence that the bunch of talented players would put the club in a better position to compete favorably for the league title this season
