Nigeria National League side Vandrezzer FC if Lagos and coach Henry Makinwa have parted ways, Nigeriasoccernet can report.
This is as a result of the poor results from the team in recent weeks.
Makinwa was brought in to the team at the beginning of this season with the aim of picking the NPFL sole ticket in Group B1 of the Nigeria National League Southern Conference, but things hasn’t gone as planned.
According to the statement by the club, it was a mutual agreement from both parties to go their separate ways.
“Vandrezzer Football Club confirms that the contract of Head Coach Henry Makinwa has been terminated by mutual consent.
“Coach Makinwa who took over the leadership of the team prior to the commencement of the 2021/2022 season, has after due consultation with the Management of the Club, agreed to a mutual termination of his contract.
“The Club appreciates Coach Makinwa’s dedication to the vision throughout his time with the club and wish him the best in his career,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, assistant coach Yemi Olarenwaju have stepped in on interim basis till the end of the season.
Vandrezzer FC – “Assistant Coach Yemi Olarenwaju has been appointed to lead the Lions on an interim basis till the end of the season.”
With the NPFL ticket out of their way, Vandrezzer FC will be spending their third year in the Nigeria National League next season should they decided to continue.
