Beyond Limits have recorded another win in the Nationwide League One after a hard fought win over Almar FC in Ikenne on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Ayomide Ogungbe’s lone strike gave the Sky Blue Stars second team their second win of the season at the Remo Stars Stadium after their first win against Easywell FC on Sunday.
The group B2B encounter saw its major action start in the 10 minutes after Ayomide Ogungbe and Ganiyu Adio combined to set up Ridwan Mogaji but the Almar goalkeeper parried his attempt.
Almar FC increased momentum to get the first goal after several corner kicks, but none yielded the desired outcome.
Despite the edge enjoyed by the Ijebu Ode side, Beyond Limits almost got the goal at the stroke of half time but were denied by the goalkeeper.
Beyond Limits’ Onyebuchi Obasi started action six minutes into the second half with his freekick, but it went off the bar.
Obasi and Ogungbe in the 62nd minute didn’t miss this time as the duo combined well to give Beyond Limits the lead.
Ogungbe struck the ball beautifully into the net after he connected well to a cross from Obasi.
The duo could have scored more for their side 71 and 75th minute, but the defense of Almar FC did well to avert the danger.
It could have been two though when the referee gave Beyond Limits a penalty for a handball at the Almar FC box, but Obasi played it wide as the score ended 1-0.
