The Nationwide League One, NLO has unveiled a two weeks programme for the commencement of the 2022/2023 league season on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The secretariat of the league through a communique revealed that it has prepared a timetable to herald the start of the league.
First on the schedule of the league is a press briefing on Monday, the 26th of April at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere-Lagos to “address the media of activities lined up for the year and the unveiling of it’s new sponsors, the biggest of them a telecommunications giants in May.”
The Media channel of the league further revealed that in the following week the league will start with a Kano Derby between Kano Pillars Jnr and Kwankwasiya FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday, May 3rd.
It was further revealed that the Youth League season will debut across venues in Nigeria on the 7th of June.
According to the release, “The NLO Youth League is a merger of the Division 2 and Division 3, as contained in the five years master plans approved by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The league has an age limit cap of between 16-19, as it’s a way to checkmate age cheat.”
