NLO Playoffs Day 2: Madiba ease pass Police Barreta as JNR, Smart, Ebedei get first win

It was another beautiful game of football at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere as the NLO Super 8 moved to day two.

 

Madiba FC continued their impressive performance in the competition wth an emphatic win while JNR Danburam FC, Smart City FC and FC Ebedei recorded their first win.

JNR Danburam in group B started the day’s activities winning by a lone goal against Aspire FC.

 

Nura Tijani’s strike from the penalty spot in the 30th minute was all the Northerners needed to win.

In the second group B encounter, Madiba FC who defeated JNR Tuesday’s game won their second game, this time with plenty of goals against Police Barretta.

 

The Lagos base team scored four unreplied goals.

 

Abiodun Ayodele put the Oshodi Boys ahead with a superb jabbing off Mayowa Adeyemi’s cross in the 30th minute.

 

In the 70th minute, Izan Marcus rod into his own net a well tailored cross to double lead for Madiba.

 

Double drama in the 80th minute, saw Aliyu Solomon put the game beyond Police Baretta with the third goal from the spot as Baretta’s Izan Marcus was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct.

 

Fatai Oladimeji adred salt to injury as he hammers home the ball in confident fashion to make ut four nil.

 

The afternoon fixtures saw Smart City fume back from a goal down to beat Mailantarki Care FC by two goals to one.

Miko Dalha had put Mailantarki in front as early as the 7th minute of the game, but a red card to Abdulbasit Bayo after a second yellow opened up Mailantarki.

 

And by the second half a deserved equaliser came through Savid Idezi and by the 81st Akeem Wasiu made it for the Lagos team who got their first win after playing a one draw in match day one.

 

FC Ebedei of Ogun State also came back from behind to beat Kun Khalifa of Imo State 2-1.

All goals came in the first half with Kun Khalifat scoring as earky as the first minute of the encounter through Ekpemadu Chijoke.

 

But Isa Musa Abubakar latched onto a defensive error by Khalifa’s defender to equal score one all in the tenth minute.

 

Odekunle Musliu’s 44th minute goal ensured the final result as the Ogun base team got a first win after aatch day one loss to Mailantarki Care.
