Nigeria’s Moses Simon faces a potential end to his season following a knee injury sustained during the Super Eagles’ disappointing 2-0 defeat to Mali in an international friendly on Tuesday night in Marrakech, Morocco, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nantes winger was carried off the field after a collision with the Malian goalkeeper in the 29th minute, leaving fans anxious about his condition.
The unfortunate incident occurred moments after Simon missed a crucial chance to level the scores at 1-1, failing to capitalize on a through ball from Alex Iwobi.
While the severity of Simon’s injury remains unconfirmed by the Super Eagles medical team and the Nigeria Football Federation, he is expected to undergo further assessment, including a scan, to determine the extent of the damage.
