The Nigeria billionaire Dozy Mmobuosi’s that wants to acquire the Sheffield United is now on the brink of collapse according to reports from The Mail.
the Nigerian businessman’s relationship with the club current owner, Prince Abdullah, has broken down to such an extent that the ownership deal for the Championship side is in major jeopardy.
It is thought Mmobuosi and Abdullah’s relationship has become increasingly fraught in recent weeks.
Mmobuosi has pumped close to £9million into United since November to help the cash-strapped Blades fulfil their financial obligations on the expectation his protracted purchased would be ratified early this year.
Mmobuosi who’s the founder of agri-fintech firm, Tingo, was granted a period of exclusivity after reportedly agreeing a deal with Abdullah for £115m to buy the club at London’s Dorchester Hotel last November.
But Mmobuosi has been under EFL scrutiny, which first started at the turn of the year, as he looked to satisfy the governing body’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test and the deal has slowed.
Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered from The Mail that they are now at war with each other amid assertions Mmobuosi made substantial cash deposits in good faith to help preserve the club’s future.
The Blades entered last night’s clash against West Bromwich Albion knowing three points will seal their promotion back to the Premier League.
