AS Trencin and Nigeria forward, Samuel Kalu, is over the moon after winning his first trophy in Europe.
The teenager was involved as Trencin defeated Slovan Bratislava 3-1 on Friday to lift the Slovakian Cup.
Adam Zreáka gave Slovan the lead in the 53rd minute of the game but after Stefan Maierhofer equalised for Trencin. There was no doubt who was going to be the winner.
Two late goals by Dutchman, Gina Van Kessel, gave Trencin a convincing 3-1 win and the cup.
Kalu, who has been in fine form for the club of recent, told supersport.com after the game that he will not forget the cup title in a hurry.
“I’m very happy and excited at winning my first trophy in Europe in my first season here.
“I give glory to God for this particular favour and I will keep working hard to win more titles for my team.
“I felt really happy holding the cup after the game. Playing in the final was exciting too.
“I want to dedicate this cup title to my lovely family back home in Nigeria who have been very supportive. This cup is dedicated to them.”
AS Trencin, who are gunning for the Slovakian league title, also have Rabiu Ibrahim, Kingsley Madu and Christopher Udeh in their ranks.
