Nigeria’s Sand Eagles gave good account of themselves by thrashing Morocco 6-1 at the Eko Atlantic Beach on Saturday to qualify for the final and also grabbed a ticket for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas next year.
Soon after, Emeka Ogbonna scored from a distance to extend the lead, Emmanuel Ohweferi scored his second goal of the night from the penalty spot; while Abu Azeez completed the rout with a brace towards the end of the third quarter.
With the 6-1 result, Nigeria booked a ticket to play in the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas, and also set-up a final game on Sunday against another West African country, Senegal who defeated Egypt 5-2 earlier in the day.
