The Nigeria Football Federation may have secured a bond of about $1.5 million for the payment of the coach’s salaries for at least two years.

The fund, we learnt, was sourced from an undisclosed oil company for the payment of the coach’s salaries and other entitlements. a source who decline to be named said that the NFF has made giant steps towards ensuring that the incoming foreign coach will be paid as at when due. “We have made all plans to hire a foreign coach. Money will not be a problem because any moment from now, we will get the required fund for that and it will come in the form of a bond.

“The amount is about $1.5 million, which will cover the coach’s salaries for about two years. That will show you that we are more than ready to take Nigerian football to a new level with the coming of a foreign coach,” the source said.

The source insisted that despite the outcome of the interviews for the shortlisted coaches, the federation has made up its mind that only a foreign coach will be better for the Super Eagles. “The NFF will interview coaches very soon, but it will be a miracle if a Nigerian coach made the cut. This is because only the best is good for the Super Eagles and that is a foreign coach.

“But he will have one or two Nigerian assistants, but for now, I don’t know those who will be his assistants. We have also concluded that the coach will come with some of his aides, whom he will pay through his salaries,” he concluded.
