The Nigeria Football Federation join Sports personalities, sport organizations, World leaders to mourn Football legend, Pele after his exit from this world.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento aka Pele, 82 passed on on Thursday after a potracted battle with Colon Cancer at the Albert Einstein Jewish Hospital, Sao Paulo.
Nigeria’s football house, the NFF regard the Brazilian star as a football Icon.
“We express our sorrow following the sad passing of football icon and Brazilian great Edson Arantes Do Nascimento ‘Pele.’ We mourn his demise with the rest of the football family worldwide and the Brazilian football family in particular. May his soul rest in peace,” the NFF wrote on their official Twitter handle.
Pele who is the only player to have won three world cup trophies scored world record 1,281 goals in 1,363 appearances during a 21-year career, including 77 goals in 92 matches for his country.
