Leicester City has announced the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy as the club’s new manager, replacing Steve Cooper who was sacked earlier this week, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Dutchman, a former Manchester United striker, will take charge of the Foxes from Sunday and will be in attendance for the team’s Premier League match against Brentford on Saturday.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who played in Leicester City’s last match against Chelsea under Cooper, will now be working under Van Nistelrooy.

“We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy as Leicester City’s new First Team Manager,” the club said in a statement.
Van Nistelrooy’s appointment comes after Cooper was sacked following a 1-2 home loss to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.
