Ghanaian midfielder Muniru Sulley says his wonder strike for Steaua Bucuresti in their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round was a surprise to himself.

He smashed in a canon from 23-yards as the Romanian champions lost 3-2 at home but progressed 4-3 on aggregate over Slovak side AS Trencin.

“The most important thing is that we qualified. It was a tough game, am I surprised that I scored this goal so important. Normally my colleagues score, not for me,” Sulley said.

“We are ready now, we have a few new players, it’s hard, but we need to focus more. We can not get three goals.”

“The coach was very mad at us at half time, was disappointed because we knew more. It’s difficult to play without fans, I like to play with the stands full.”
