Sports philanthropist Frank Momoh has called for support for the Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick’s bid to secure a seat in CAF Executive Committee.
The CAF Executive Committee election has been fixed for March with Pinnick contesting the West Africa Zone B seat against Benin Republic’s Anjorin Moucharafou, who defeated former NFF boss Aminu Maigari in 2013.
“Pinnick is one of the next generation of administrators, and his emergence as the NFF president two years ago has really brought great innovation and quality leadership to our football,” the chairman of FROT Group said.
“He has the zeal and passion for the game, and I want Nigerians to rally around him in his bid to secure a seat in CAF. His membership will take African football to a greater level.”
Momoh added, “I know that Pinnick faces a herculean task because his opponent (Moucharafou) is vastly experienced, but with undiluted support from Nigerians, especially football stakeholders, he will triumph.
“I want Nigerians to know that no one is perfect in life, so they should forget some of the national teams’ setbacks and look at the many significant changes Pinnick has brought to our football in the last two years. He has so much to give, but he needs the support of everyone to build the house.”
