Former Chelsea and German international Michael Ballack is still confident that Manchester City will bounce back from the weekend’s defeat to Tottenham and ultimately win the title in Pep Guardiola’s first season in charge.
“?
After successes at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, many still doubted whether Guardiola could cope with the physicality of the Premier League whilst implementing his infamous ‘tiki-taka’ brand of football.
“?But Pep’s Manchester City side have begun the campaign strongly, winning the first ten matches consecutively in all competitions before a 3-3 draw to Celtic in the Champions League and a 2-0 loss away at Spurs on Sunday.

“?Speaking to the “?Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Ballack insisted that City are still the ‘team to beat’ in this year’s Premier League.

“For him it’s now a new challenge at Man City and you can already see the influence he has in terms of playing and in terms of possession, so I think Man City are the team to beat this season – even if they lost on the weekend.”

“?Manchester City play Everton next at home in the league on October 15 before a fascinating tie in the Champions League against Barcelona the following Wednesday, which will see the Catalan coach return to his former club in a highly-anticipated clash.
