According to Corriere dello Sport new Sporting Director of Serie A side Napoli Cristiano Guintoli wants to bring 23 year old Nigerian forwars Jerry Mbakogu to the team.
Guintoli is a big admirer of the Nigerian whom he worked with while he was at Carpi and he is hoping to do a deal with relegated Carpi for the forward who had an injury blighted season in his debut season in the Serie A.
Mbakogu scored just two goals from the 24 games he played for Carpi last season but Guintoli is keen on the forward due to his blistering form two seasons ago while at Serie B side Carpi.
He fired 15 goals from 30 games and that form is what Guintoli is hopefully he will replicate for Napoli if they eventually sign him.
Born in Lagos,Nigeria, he began his professional career in Italy by turning out for Padova in the 2010/2011 season before moving to Juve Stabia where he spent three seasons before moving to Carpi three seasons ago.
